The New Bristol Sinfonia, under the baton of Thomas Blunt, invites you to an evening of dazzling orchestral music featuring the legendary Dame Evelyn Glennie – the world’s first full-time solo percussionist. Renowned for her extraordinary musicianship and trailblazing career, Dame Evelyn has transformed the perception of percussion in classical music, earning international acclaim for her expressive power and technical brilliance.

This thrilling concert features a rich and varied programme celebrating rhythm, emotion, and innovation.

From the hypnotic pulse of Ravel’s Bolero to the stirring emotion of Barber’s Adagio, and the vibrant spirit of Gershwin’s An American in Paris, the programme is crowned by Dreamachine – a spectacular contemporary work that puts percussion centre stage.
