Hector Anchondo at Trucks & Taps!
So incredibly honored to welcome the one-and only Hector Anchondo to the T&T stage! The show is free and all ages.
Hector Anchondo is an Omaha-based blues virtuoso whose soulful guitar and smooth vocals have earned national acclaim. He picked up his first guitar at 16, left rural Missouri, and eventually made Omaha his creative home—where he cut his teeth in the Latin-reggae world before answering the call of real blues.
A relentless touring musician, Anchondo refined his sound by even spending a year immersed in Chicago’s blues scene—only listening to blues to perfect authenticity. His breakthrough came in 2020 when he won the prestigious International Blues Challenge in the Solo/Duo category and took home the Memphis Cigar Box Guitar Award.
Back home in Omaha, he's a crowd favorite: Winner of multiple Omaha Entertainment and Arts (OEA) Awards and a key figure behind the city’s “In the Market for Blues” festival, which he founded in 2015 and has since grown into a multi-venue celebration of blues talent.
Anchondo’s discography includes early blues releases like Kicking Up Dust (2012) and Young Guns (2014), the charting Roll the Dice (2017), and later albums earning nominations like Acoustic Blues by Blues Music and Blues Blast Awards. His heartfelt playing, unforgettable slide guitar, and community spirit make him a pillar of Omaha’s music scene and a blues artist to watch.
