A celebration of the publication of "The Moral Imperative" and a celebration of the work of The Moral Imperative project. This free gathering has snacks and refreshments, an opportunity to meet many of the authors/poets featured in this book and to hear select readings from the book performed.
We gather to celebrate in Fitz Books' new location at 1462 Main Street. Before and after the gathering, please browse Fitz Books' powerful collection of new and used books as well as their current art installation.
Event Schedule:
1:00pm see the book, casually meet the authors and each other
1:20pm welcome and introductions
1:30pm readings from the book interlaced with reflections about the experience
2:20pm thank you's and closing reflections
2:30pm until 3pm (or later) casually conversation and book signings
The Moral Imperative project is a collaboration of Community Canvases' Kind Fools and Just Buffalo Literary Center's Civil Writes Project, with active support by Buffalo Latino Village Press, Vilardo Printing, the King Urban Life Center, Fitz Books and Waffles, and the Frank E. Merriweather Branch of the Buffalo & Erie County Pubic Library. This project was made possible through leadership by Kamau R.E. Fields, Chanda O'Donnell de Ramirez, and Samuel Floyd as well as editing support by Dr. Steve Peraza and Alberto O. Cappas.
