Black women are more likely to be diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer and more likely to die from the disease than any other race or ethnic group. The good news is screening saves lives and when breast cancer is found early it is highly curable.
Bring a friend and join in the fun, fellowship, education and sharing along with dynamic guest speaker, Dr. Diane E. Mahoney, PhD, DNP, FNP-BC,WHNP-BC, APRN. A Mobile Mammography unit will be on-site to offer low/no-cost mammograms for women 40+ without health insurance. If you have health insurance and would like to get a mammogram, please bring your insurance card.
Join us Saturday, July 19th from 10:00 am β 12:00 pm with mammogram screening until 2pm at Good Hope Baptist Church, 3810 E. 56th St., Kansas City, MO 64130. Space is limited and registration is required. Register here: Friend to Friend - July 19, 2025 or scan the QR code on the flyer.
The Breast Cancer Health Equity Task Force, facilitated by the Masonic Cancer Alliance and The University of Kansas Cancer Center, is doing their part to increase breast cancer screening rates and access to mammography by encouraging you to attend the Friend-to-Friend Party with a Purpose.
