Lecture, Wilmington During the Civil War

Join us this Saturday at the Wilmington Historical Society at 9:30 am, when Drum Barracks Museum Director, Tara Fansler, will deliver a special lecture, “Wilmington During the Civil War.” Using period newspapers and first-hand accounts, Ms. Fansler will talk about the businesses, civic organizations and recreational pastimes of the citizens and soldiers of this “garrison town.”

Ms. Fansler will be joined by two living history interpreters dressed as Union soldiers who will talk about the uniforms, equipment and daily life of soldiers stationed in Wilmington.
