Direct Mummy Mt Summit...2.5ish miles to the peak!

This is a very strenuous, straight up in places, short route to Mummy Mt. It is an ADVANCED route that requires a lot of tenacity to be able to keep pushing yourself to move forward when your body is crying, "Uncle!". The feeling of accomplishment is overwhelming when you reach the peak....or at least the ridge line to the peak.
We will start at the Foxtail Picnic area and ascend almost immediately. The route requires us to climb at a constant rate of an average of about 1500 feet a mile. Some places will be steeper than others. The route is just over 2.5 miles to the peak with nothing over class 3.
We will exit on a very quick descent route back in to Foxtail Canyon....coming out at the Pioneer Rock. A short distance later, we will be at our vehicles.
It is advisable to use hiking poles. Bring at least 2.5 to 3 liters of water and plenty of energy snacks and food. We will move at a constant moderate pace with minimal (very) short breaks. With the possibility of afternoon rain, it is probably a good idea to bring a rain jacket.
Sounds impossible? It's not! You can do it if you are an advanced scrambler and want a fun, challenging day! The Mount Charleston area doesn't have to be the same route over and over again to the peaks. Get out and explore!
PS....meet over by the Burger King in the main parking lot.
