Autumn Running Day and Tribute to West Midlands Municipals

Before 1969, the councils of Birmingham, Walsall, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton all ran their own bus fleets. All were subsumed into the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive (WMPTE or Wumpty). Later, Coventry also succumbed to this mighty establishment. Come back with us to those halcyon days and colourful liveries.
