Backyard Beekeeping: honey supering and making splits

Join us in the farm apiary for a summer examination of hive health. Ted Jones will describe the decision tree for adding honey supers and how/when to split your hive to prevent a swarm and optimize colony health. We'll also demonstrate a mite wash and talk about treatment options.

Ideal for hobbyists of all levels. Wear light layers and closed toed shoes! We have veils and gloves for you to use. It is warm; please come but leave when you need to or take a break in the shade.
