Protect Veteran Benefits (Tuesday Corner Action Series)

As a part of our continuing Corner Action Series, we focus this week on the attacks on the benefits of veterans. Through laying off of essential government employees as a part of DOGE, veterans face tremendous hardship. The Trump administration has already laid off 6,000 essential veterans employees and plans to fire 80,000 more.

The very real threats veterans face include:
-increases in veteran unemployment
-larger shortages of nurses
-increased hospital wait times
-fewer claims being processed
-fewer essential care personnel
-reduced access to housing assistance
-reduced access to mental health services
-reduced access to job training
