History Presentation: Pomme de Terre - A Frontier Fort in Grant County

A remote hilltop in Grant County saw oxcarts, stagecoaches, covered wagons, military units and people walking as they ventured west. It was an important link between Fort Snelling in the Twin Cities and Fort Abercrombie on the Red River. Local historian, Merilyn Mau will share her extensive knowledge on Fort Pomme de Terre, its establishment, and daily life at the fort. This presentation will be held in the (air conditioned) Veterans Hall at the museum.
