Bill McKibben will present a Look to the sun – it’s the star that fuels our world. He offers hopeful advice on Sunday July 20th at 2pm when he speaks at Tannery Pond Center’s latest Tannery Talks event. Suggested donation at the door: $10 tannerypond.org
McKibben, the author of more than 20 books and a long-time homeowner in the local Garnet Lake community, serves as the Schumann Distinguished Professor in Residence at Middlebury College in Vermont, is a contributing writer for The New Yorker and brings an extensive history of leadership of environmental protection efforts. He founded the first global grassroots climate campaign in 2008, .350.org.
Sundays presentation will include plans for the upcoming SunDay national day of action, and give the audience an advanced peek at his latest informative book, “Here Comes the Sun”, due out in August.
