Sculptural Shenanigans

Please join us at the Left Bank, Maurice Kahn Gallery at 5pm, August 1st, for the reception of Sculptural Shenanigans:
An exhibition of drawings by a diverse group of sculptors.

Sculptors make drawings for a range of reasons, they can be a projection of a sculptural idea, or they can be exploratory.
Sculptors' drawings can exist in a separate space, what can be best described as on a tangent to the various parts of a sculptor’s practice and can be closely aligned with the artist’s identity. In some cases, they are direct, fluid and fragmented.
The intention of making a drawing is complex and perhaps the mark on paper leads as much as it led, some artist have a preconceived idea, while others might just have a hunch, developing the work organically, ultimately the results have varying amounts of intention, pragmatism, accident and ambition.
Curated by Lee Williams
