"Drawing & Beyond" Adult Art Class - Four Wednesday Sessions

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, this series of four hands-on workshops will teach you how to improve your drawing skills. Each week new concepts will be introduced addressing critical skills for seeing your subject and planning your approach. Every session will include demonstrations and exercises that focus on the weekly topic. You will be provided with a detailed pdf that outlines everything covered in class.
Classes will cover these areas
Week 1: Value, shading and types of line
Week 2: Composition, measuring and proportion
Week 3: One and two-point perspective
Week 4: Facial anatomy and structure of the skull
Your instructor is Sue Davis, a graduate of the American Academy of Art who has taught art at the college level for over 14 years. She draws every day and enjoys helping others discover the simple joy of sketching. Sue is an avid watercolorist and believes that drawing is the foundation for creating believable paintings. Dates are August 27, September 3, 10 and 17 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm
Fee of $110 includes all four workshops, payable upon registration
Supply List – Please bring the following supplies to the first class:
– Sketchbook, size approximately 9 x 12
– Graphite drawing pencil set of 12 such as Blick Studio Drawing Pencils, or purchase the 5 pencils individually: B, HB, 2B, 4B and 6B
– Kneaded eraser
– Pencil sharpener
– Ruler
