The Central Echo, the official student media of Central Philippine University (CPU) since 1910, is proud to launch ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ: ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ-๐ ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฟโa flagship two-day intensive journalism workshop dedicated to shaping the future of campus media through rigorous training, ethical grounding, and values-driven mentorship.
This yearโs theme, โShaping Ethical Storytellers in the Digital Age,โ reflects the workshopโs commitment to developing responsible, future-ready journalists equipped to uphold truth, credibility, and integrity in an increasingly complex media environment.
Applications are open to:
โข Editors and staff of CPUโs departmental publications
โข Communication students seeking practical newsroom experience and knowledge
โข Campus journalists from CPU Junior and Senior High School
โข Incoming Centralian freshmen and aspiring college students who aim to join The Central Echo or other student publications
Selection Criteria and Slot Allocation:
The workshop will accommodate 50 to 100 participants. While registration is open to all, slots will be allocated accordingly across participating publications and year levels to ensure balanced representation. Once the maximum capacity is reached, registration will automatically close and no further entries will be accepted.
Registration Fee:
A minimal fee will be required to cover snacks, lunch, and the training kit:
โข โฑ150 โ Early bird rate (July 10 to July 14)
โข โฑ200 โ Regular rate (July 15 onwards)
Workshop Schedule: July 18โ19, 2025
Main Venue: Central Philippine University Alumni Promenade Park
