19 July 2025 - Gravel ride
39km_24 Miles_Hockey's Café Tearoom - Gravel Ride
Starts 9.30am and concludes back in Burley - approx 1.30pm

This is a Social pace ride

If we can all aim to meet up at 9.15am back at the usual Burley car park (see below the What3Words for location and directions) - for a sharp 9.30am push off.

There is plenty of FREE car parking in the car park opposite the Burley Cricket ground. See What3Words for location;
https://w3w.co/smirks.solutions.blankets

Just over halfway Cafe stop is at Hockeys - here we can stop for coffee, plus a comfort break.

Suitably refreshed we ride onto Burley! Ride concludes for those who wish to top up their caffeine fix levels at Shappens in Burley

Some rolling gravel hills - but nothing dramatic - short distance on back lanes/roads etc as we cross over them to get back onto the tracks! Thus avoiding the busy road(s)!!

This is a NO DROP ride..!

Please add a thumbs up on the event if you’re coming so we have an idea on numbers! (Not essential but good to know numbers expected)

Strongly recommend bike locks as we might be sitting indoors at the tearooms and possibly out of sight of our trusty steeds!
Speed: 8-12 mph chill pace.

A revised GPX file - Garmin and Komoot friendly for this route is posted on both the NMCC FB and WhatsApp page
- but for those who cannot wait:-

IMPORTANT STUFF BELOW
We will be stopping on the ride for people to rehydrate and eat as required. (If you need food whilst on the ride - we will stop as a group for you to refuel.)
Please wear a helmet and have a bike that is in road worthy state and you need to know how to repair a flat tyre but plenty of people will be willing to help.
A spare inner tubes, compatible and working pump, tyre levers, repair kit and a drink plus food to eat whilst on the ride is a good idea too.

This is a NMCC Gravel Group ride.
It's not a, RACE, SPORTIVE, TIME TRIAL
or any such competitive event.
