Carve a Wooden Spatula – Green Woodworking Workshop
Sunday 12th October
9:30am–1:00pm £40
All tools and materials included

Join us for an engaging and hands-on morning of green woodworking, where you’ll learn to carve your very own wooden spatula from log to finished utensil. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some green woodworking experience, this workshop is a great opportunity to build your skills and confidence.

Guided by experienced tutor Anna, you'll start by splitting a fresh log and learn how to use an axe safely to rough out your spatula shape. From there, you’ll refine your work on a shave horse before finishing carving the details with a knife. By the end of the session, you’ll head home with a unique handcrafted spatula and a deeper understanding of traditional green woodwork.

Green woodwork is the traditional craft of working with fresh wood before it has seasoned and dried.
It is much easier to work with than dried timber. You will learn about the properties of different woods, how to select your wood, the correct tools to use.

Set at our peaceful smallholding by the canal, this thoroughly enjoyable workshop offers a chance to fully engage in a mindful craft, and enjoy the satisfaction of working with your hands.
