The City of Fremantle invites you to join us in recognising Homelessness Week at a screening of the powerful documentary, Under Cover, which takes a look at the reality of Australian women over 50 experiencing homelessness.
The event will also feature a panel discussion from St Patrick’s (St Pat’s) Community Support Centre about the work they do with people experiencing homelessness in our Fremantle community.
Donations to support St Pat’s are most welcome at the event. Items that St Pat’s are currently seeking include sleeping bags, tracksuit pants, unisex t-shirts, underwear (briefs), socks and $20 vouchers.
Cost: $5, book here: https://events.humanitix.com/homelessness-week-undercover-documentary
About the film:
Narrated by Margot Robbie and sharing the often secret lives of an eclectic group of women across Australia, Under Cover shines a light on the devastating reality that women over 50 are the fastest growing cohort experiencing homelessness in the country. Their moving but optimistic portraits reveal the struggles these women face, and lay bare the flaws in our society, as well as our economic fragility in the modern world.
