Come and get a taste of our Out of the Ordinary Festival before the big weekend!
Hands Down Circus will be performing their show Tape That, a charming, light-hearted, non-verbal acrobatic duet. Two performers construct a visual world using colourful tape, object manipulation and partner acrobatics. A simple roll of tape transforms from DJ decks to a spyglass, and is stretched to create physical barriers and obstacles for the performers to navigate.
Tape That is a playful exploration of the world we live in; when challenges present themselves, just how many problems can be fixed with a few rolls of duct tape?Surreal McCoy are bringing their Giant Seagulls to Cambridge! Totally surrealistic, with working beaks, they'll be rummaging in bags and pockets, stealing food from plates and picnic baskets, causing chaos as usual and squabbling amongst themselves. Shrieks of laughter follow them wherever they go.
Icons by Jon Hicks is upside down, revolving, 6 foot tall speed paintings of the iconically famous. Executed with, style, dexterity, attitude and immaculate timing to music.The screen is blank, the music is playing and Jon will step up to the screen, armed with just a few pots of paint. Within minutes the screen is full of colour and the audience begins to perceive a face. At the last moment he spins the screen to reveal a famous character who is linked to the music.
