35th Anniversary of the Task Groups departure for the Gulf War (24 Aug 1990)
Hosted by the Naval Museum of Halifax.

Open to all veterans and their families.
Veterans are encouraged to bring Gulf War memorabilia for display.
In August 1990, the Canadian warships HMCS Terra Nova, HMCS Athabaskan, and HMCS Protecteur departed Halifax, Nova Scotia, for the Persian Gulf as part of Canada's response to the Gulf War. The ships, along with personnel from 119 Air Defence Battery and 423 Squadron, sailed on August 24, 1990, and began operations in the Gulf on October 1.
This is the first of events to come to commemorate the 35th Anniversary of the Liberation of Kuwait.
