🗓️The first day of school for all students will be Thursday, August 14, 2025. All students who are new to The Rob will have a half-day orientation on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
🚌Busing Info
Any and All updated bus route information will be available in the FirstView app. To access this application, search for “FirstView” in Google Play Store for Andriod or App Store for Apple and download to your mobile device. The app is free. The web address for desktop use is: firstviewapp.com.
You will need your student’s ID number and security code to access the app. Security codes will be sent out with bus letters later this month. If you have questions, please call Diana at 973-860 or email her at ZHNlaWdhbCB8IHVzZDI1OSAhIG5ldA== after July 21.
🏀🏐 Fall Sports
We want to ensure that all students are informed about the requirements to participate in middle school sports. Athletics are open to 7th and 8th-grade students. The district has made a significant change to the sports schedule, which will affect volleyball and cross country.
Any student interested in trying out for any sport must obtain a KSSHSA PHYSICAL ( https://www.kshsaa.org/public/pdf/form-ppe.pdf) over the summer. The physical must be completed after May 1, 2025 and is required annually, even for returning athletes. Completed physicals must be uploaded to RANK ONE at https://rankone.com/parent

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for participation to tryout for any team must be completed by the first day of practice or tryouts:
KSHSAA Physical: Must be completed after May 1, 2025, signed by a doctor, parent, and student, and uploaded to RankOne. Scheduling your physical over the summer ensures eligibility for all sports.
Academic Standing: Students must have earned a **2.0 GPA or higher** in the spring semester of 2025 and be passing at least **five subjects**.
🏐🏃🏿♂️🏃🏻♀️Parent Meetings
Since volleyball and cross country begin early in the school year, we will hold a parent meeting to provide important details about tryouts, practices, required equipment, and necessary paperwork. Meetings will be held as follows:
Monday, August 11th in the FEMA Gym
-Volleyball: 4:50 – 5:10 PM
-Cross Country: 5:10 – 5:30 PM
🏐Volleyball Camp
Open to **6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students** (boys and girls), this camp is a great opportunity to learn more about volleyball—whether for fun or preparation for tryouts. Boys interested in team management should also plan to attend.
- Dates: August 11th, 12th, 13th
- Time: 3:30 – 4:50 PM
- Registration: $15 (fundraiser for the volleyball team)
- Capacity: Limited to the first 50 students—registration fee is due on the first day of camp.

Tryouts Begin: August 18th (third day of school)
**Note:** A completed physical must be uploaded before August to be eligible.
Approximately 40–50 students try out for 10–12 spots, so competition is strong.
🏃🏿♂️🏃🏻♀️Cross Country (7th & 8th Grade Boys and Girls)
NEW SEASON STRUCTURE: Begins September 30th ends November 4th (starts after volleyball)
-Practice: Afternoons, 3:20 – 4:45 PM.
-Parent Participation: Due to traffic congestion, we encourage parents to join us during runs to the parks.
-Coaches: Howk / Ford
-Coach Update: Coach Kratz has moved on to pursue a lawn care business—we appreciate his contributions and wish him success. Coach Ford will now be teaching PE and coaching cross country, bringing his passion for exercise and knowledge to the team.
Boys & Girls Basketball (Winter)
-Tryouts: December 8–12
-Skills Practice: December 15–19
-Season Begins: January 5
Boys & Girls Track & Field (Spring)
-Tryouts Begin: March 23
-Season Ends: May 12
