Stage Left Players is holding open auditions for our fall production of Larry Shue’s outrageous comedy "The Foreigner," directed by Elsie Kibler. She’s on the lookout for a strong, playful ensemble—and newcomers are very welcome!
Auditions will include cold readings from the script, character exploration, and lots of fun. No prep necessary—just bring your energy and willingness to try something new!
🎭 What’s The Foreigner About?
Set in a rural Georgia fishing lodge, The Foreigner follows the painfully shy Charlie Baker. When his friend convinces the locals he doesn’t speak English, Charlie becomes the silent witness to hilarious confessions, outrageous secrets, and even a sinister plot. But the more he listens, the braver he becomes—until he’s the unlikely hero of this wild Southern comedy.
🎭 Roles Available:
Charlie Baker – Shy “foreigner” with a hidden spark
Froggy LeSueur – Boisterous British friend
Betty Meeks – Lodge owner, sweet and spunky
Catherine Simms – Strong Southern woman
Rev. David Marshall Lee – Charming... but maybe not trustworthy
Ellard Simms – Gentle, simple-minded brother
Owen Musser – Local villain type with a temper
🎟 Performance Dates: 7 PM Saturdays and 2 PM Sundays, Oct 4-19, 2025
