Strength & Serenity: A Mini-Retreat

Do you love yoga, but want to add strength training into your movement routine?
Do you want to gain greater awareness of how your body moves and functions?
Do you want to sense the mental health benefits of cultivating strength?
Do you want to enjoy a slow, mindful, strength-focused yoga flow followed by a yummy restorative practice?
If you answered yes to any of the above, this mini-retreat is for you!
In this 2-hour program we are going to use light hand weights and resistance bands to help us mindfully and gently blend strength training into our yoga practice. During the last 30 minutes of the retreat we will stretch and rest in a restorative pose with guided meditation to help body and mind integrate this new way of moving.
This mini-retreat is open to all levels of experience. Beginners are welcome, though you will need the ability move up and down from the floor unassisted and be on hands and knees.
When: Saturday, August 9th 10am-12pm
Where: 239 Woburn Street, Reading, MA 01867 (Inside the UU church)
What to bring: 2 light hand weights (1-5 lbs), yoga mat, water bottle
