Dave retired from a career in the New Zealand Police after serving for almost 33 years in Palmerston North.
A career that offered a great deal of variety, from frontline policing to working as a Police negotiator and with the Air Support Unit in the local rescue helicopter, until being accepted into the Palmerston North Forensic Unit, where he worked as a Scene of Crime Officer and then a Police Photographer. A position he held for over twenty years.
Dave has attended many major incidents and crime scenes, until deciding to retire in 2023 and follow his passion for writing. He has been working on his first novel, ‘Time and Time Again’, for over a year.
Dave is looking forward to sharing some stories from his career and the transition to being an author.
The PumpHouse Theatre’s free Creative Talks series brings the community together with local artists to explore what inspires them, with behind-the-scenes insights and complimentary tea and coffee.
