Environmental Health and Water Educator Workshop
Workshop Date and Time: Tuesday, September 23, 10 am-4 pm
Workshop location and address: Pecar Nature Center, 5203 E County Rd 150 N, Avon, IN 46123
Facilitators: Sarah Wolf (Hendricks County Partnership for Water Quality) and Dylan Allison (IDEM Hoosier Riverwatch)
Who should attend: Naturalists, teachers, pre-service teachers, scout leaders, homeschool parents, and other adults who teach middle and high school students
How much: FREE
Human health and the environment are closely tied, especially with regards to water. Explore these relationships through guided activities and water tests that are easy to lead with your middle and high school learners.
Participants will receive the Healthy Water, Healthy People water quality educators guide and field monitoring guide as part of this workshop.
Professional Growth Experience Points are available upon completion.
Bring a sack lunch and refillable water bottle for a working lunch as there will not be time to get food off-site. Please come prepared to participate in activities. Some of the activities will be outside, so dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Coffee and light snacks will be provided.
