Join us for the 2025 Knock Novena at St. Patrick’s Church in Binghamton! The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared with St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist on the gable wall of the parish church in Knock on the evening of August 21, 1879. Alongside the three saints, the Lamb of God stood on an altar surrounded by choirs of angels. The people of the village knelt in awe for two hours in the pouring rain praying their rosaries. Devotion to Our Lady of Knock has grown since the approval of this apparition and is celebrated each year with a novena from August 14th-August 22nd, beginning on the Vigil of the Assumption and concluding on the Memorial of the Queenship of Mary. The faithful are encouraged to attend Mass and pray the Rosary during the days of the Novena.
Novena prayers will conclude each of the regularly scheduled masses from August 14-August 22. There will be solemn masses at 7PM on the Solemnity of the Assumption (Aug. 15) and the Memorial of the Queenship of Mary (Aug. 22). We are excited to have visiting preachers from around the diocese for these evening liturgies!
