Introduction to Defensive Shooting/Home Defense

This class is for anyone who has a firearm in the home. Beginner or intermediate. Single parent, hunter, recreational or competitive shooter, or anyone interested in more information about defending their family from a violent attack in the home. Have you ever considered how you would handle a home invasion? We will be looking at a multitude of gun types and models of handguns. This class is primarily for handguns, but we will also take a look at long guns, and shotguns. You will get some of the pros and cons of each type of gun for the purpose of home defense. Topics covered will be safety, storage, firearm types, ammunition, preparations in the home, shooting fundamentals, skill development drills, and live fire simulation to allow the student to apply learned skills. We will discuss Home Invasion Scenarios. You get a look at the dynamic critical incident called Home Invasion, a crime that often ends in tragedy. If you have a gun in your home, you owe it to yourself and your family to attend this class. Requirements for the class: Handgun, 2 magazines, two hundred rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection. Course price is $150.00. A $50.00 deposit required and payable to Flint River Indoor Range, Burlington, Iowa. The remaining $100.00 balance due at the beginning of class payable to T-M Firearms training. This will be a 6-hour course. Handguns are available for loan with the purchase of ammunition.
