Keeping Our Whānau Safe in a Digital World

📅 Thursday 7th August
🕖 7:00–9:00pm
📍 Ryder Hall, New Plymouth Boys’ High School
🎟️ Tickets: $40 via Humanitix

Sentinel Homes Taranaki Team invites you to a relaxed and insightful evening designed to help parents confidently navigate the online world our kids are growing up in.

Our tamariki are spending more time than ever online — whether it’s gaming, scrolling, messaging, or learning — and while the digital space offers great opportunities, it also presents challenges we can’t ignore. From social media pressure and cyberbullying to inappropriate content, online predators, and screen time struggles, knowing where to start as a parent can be overwhelming.

Speakers:

🔹 Pio Terei – MC and kaikōrero, sharing wisdom, stories, and heart on whānau wellbeing
🔹 Holly Brooker from Make Sense – straight-up talk on the realities of social media and digital life
🔹 Sheridan Eketone from Parenting Place – offering practical strategies and everyday parenting support

This evening is all about real kōrero, helpful advice, and building a village of support for parents and caregivers. Please note: some content may not be suitable for children, so we recommend making arrangements to leave them at home.

Come along, ask questions, and leave feeling more informed, supported, and empowered.
