Lecture Series – Saturday, July 19th @ 2pm – Corinne Cottle-Harmon – “When the Call Comes: Arizona's Search & Rescue Teams During Fire and Monsoon Seasons”

Join us for a compelling lecture exploring the history and evolving role of Arizona's Search & Rescue (SAR) teams. From early volunteer efforts to today's highly trained response units, SAR teams have long played a vital role in protecting lives across Arizona's rugged landscapes. This talk will focus on the challenges faced during fire and monsoon seasons -- when swift water rescues, evacuations, and backcountry searches become urgent and dangerous. Discover how these teams prepare, adapt, and respond when the call comes.

Corinne Cottle-Harmon is the Grants Coordinator at Sharlot Hall Museum. She has been involved in Search & Rescue since 2005, beginning her SAR journey in the Pacific Northwest. She is currently a Wilderness First Responder with Yavapai County Search & Rescue and serves on the Search Dog Unit.
