Engocha is a newly formed multi-generational Ethiojazz trio featuring Los Angeles based Kibrom Birhane and Minneapolis based musicians bassist Yohannes Tona + drummer Abinnet Berhanu. This all-Ethiopian group brings together three composers of very different Ethiopian and American influences to create a new sound in the Ethiojazz space. Engocha features original works by each member plus ethiojazz classics in support of their debut album being released this summer. This is a rare one-time opportunity to hear a group like this in Minneapolis so don’t miss out.
