Join Radar and Five Leaves Bookshop for a reading event with Nat Raha and Mijke van der Drift, discussing their book Trans Femme Futures: Abolitionist Ethics for Transfeminist Worlds.
About this event:
'Trans Femme Futures' envisions the future through everyday actions that revolutionise our lives. Nat Raha and Mijke van der Drift discuss struggles around trans healthcare, the need for collectives over institutions, the importance of mutual care, and transfeminism as abolition. The authors show how social change can be achieved through transformative practices that allow queer life to thrive in a time of climate, health, political and economic crises.
For this event, Nat and Mijke will present ideas from the book, followed by an audience Q&A.
This event is presented in collaboration with Five Leaves Bookshop in Nottingham. It connects to Nat Raha’s ongoing project Liberation Laboratory, a commission by Radar.
Radar is Loughborough University's commissioning contemporary art programme. We invite artists to produce new work in response to, alongside and in provocation of research undertaken across Loughborough University’s two campuses. We also programme events bringing together artistic and academic work.
