Edinburgh Hindu Mandir & Cultural Centre cordially invites you, your family, and friends to celebrate
Raksha Bandhan with the Armed Forces and Police Scotland and local dignitaries.
This year, we will be celebrating Raksha Bandhan on Sunday, 10th August 2025, starting at noon. We warmly invite you to join us for this special occasion at the Temple. Your presence would mean a lot to us as we come together for this meaningful celebration.

11:00 AM β 1:00 PM: Sunderkand Paath β All are welcome to join, sing, and participate.
1:00 PM β 1:20 PM: Welcome
1:20 PM β 1:45 PM: Raksha Bandhan Ceremony
1:45 PM β 2:00 PM: Temple Main Aarti
2:00 PM onwards: Preeti Bhoj (Lunch)

Raksha Bandhan: According to Hindu tradition, on the day of Raksha Bandhan, sisters tie a rakhi (sacred thread) on their brothersβ wrists to protect them in difficult situations. Similarly, the Armed Forces and Police protect the entire community. To acknowledge this and express our gratitude, Hindu community ladies will tie rakhis to them as a symbol of respect and thanks.
All devotees who wish to participate in the Sunderkand Paath and Raksha Bandhan celebrations are heartily welcome to join these auspicious events.
Should you wish to volunteer for kitchen duties or other help, you are most welcome. For more information or Seva opportunities at the Mandir, please contact:
