This workshop is designed to help you observe plants with fresh eyes, appreciate their structure, and express their delicate beauty through drawing and painting. We’ll begin with light sketching and detailed ink work, ideal for capturing crisp outlines, fine textures, and natural rhythms. Then, using watercolour, you’ll bring your subject to life with gentle washes, subtle hues, and layered transparency.
You’ll learn how to:
-Use ink pen for fine botanical linework and definition
-Explore watercolour techniques like wet-on-wet, layering, and dry brush
-Practice observing natural forms (leaves, flowers, stems, textures)
-Understand how to build composition, shape, and colour harmony
-Combine ink and watercolour in a harmonious, expressive way
Whether you choose to work from provided botanical references, live specimens, or bring your own favorite plant or flower, you’ll gain both technical skills and visual awareness. The focus is not only on accuracy but also on capturing character and detail with personal style.
You’ll be provided with:
-Ink pens and fine liners
-Watercolour paints and brushes
-High-quality illustration paper
-Botanical references and plant specimens

No experience needed
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners and for those looking to deepen their illustration practice. Our professional tutor will offer individual guidance throughout the session to support your progress.
Please note:
-No cash payments accepted
-Maximum 10 participants per session
-If you can't make it, new sessions are regularly listed on our main page
-This is suitable for everyone aged 16 and older
-Easy access available for participants with disabilities.
-Private group workshops
