Discover the Secrets Beneath the Surface!
Join a Yampatika naturalist for an exciting walking tour of Steamboat Springs’ legendary mineral springs. Along the way, you’ll uncover the latest scientific discoveries about these natural treasures and learn how Steamboat Springs is leading the nation in protecting its one-of-a-kind geothermal resources. Whether you're a local or a first-time visitor, this is your chance to connect with the land, its stories, and the science shaping its future.
This program is offered in partnership with Tread of Pioneers Museum. All participants will receive a half-off coupon admission coupon to the Tread of Pioneers Museum for attendance.
What to expect/bring: This walking tour is slightly longer than 1 mile and starts at the Steamboat Creates Art Depot. Dress for the weather. You might want a light or rain jacket as the weather changes quickly here! A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes are a good idea as we will be walking without much shade. BRING WATER! There there is no easy access to drinking water.
Anyone is welcome on this tour, however, it is taught at an adult/young adult level of comprehension- young children may find much of the content difficult to understand.
Registration encouraged but not required!
