In our Gospel reading on Sunday, we'll reflect on a story of the sisters, Mary and Martha. Anyone with siblings—or who’s raised them—can relate to the tension in this story. Like in real life situations, Martha’s exasperation is understandable, but her assumptions aren't entirely accurate. Jesus gently redirects her, pointing to the value of being present with God. While Martha was overwhelmed with her tasks, Mary chose to sit and listen to Jesus—and Jesus called that the “better part.” The story reminds us that meaningful service begins with time spent in God’s presence. In a world filled with noise and busyness, we’re invited to slow down, listen, and let our actions be shaped by time spent with God. Join us in worship on Sunday to explore this message more deeply.
