In 2010, we left our corporate jobs with a dream, a lot of passion, and no idea what we were doing. We bought a little café off Craigslist in Washington, Missouri, hoping to grow Karmen’s bakery business and what happened next changed our lives.
That café went through a couple of iterations before becoming The Blue Duck, a choice of name with many potential origins but only one real one - and if you get it, you’re our people.
Over the next seven years, we poured ourselves into The Blue Duck, serving the Washington community and experimenting with new concepts like Smokey Duck and Slamburger. But in 2017, we followed our hearts to Maplewood, where The Blue Duck found its home - and its voice.
Through many twists and turns, we’ve worked hard to become the best version of ourselves - as people, as a business, and as a family. And that’s thanks in no small part to you:
