Summer concert in Heptonstall

Cantorelli's next concert is in the beautiful St Thomas the Apostle church in Heptonstall on Wednesday 23rd July at 7.30pm.
The programme for this concert includes mainly motets and madrigals from the Renaissance period including motets by Gabrieli and Palestrina, both prominent Italian composers of the Renaissance era and by English composers Thomas Tallis and Thomas Weelkes. and madrigals by John Dowland and Orlande de Lassus and others which have become favourites with the Also pieces from a similar repertoire by Hans Leo Hassler and Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. Both composers, also of the late Renaissance and early Baroque periods, worked in Northern Europe. There is also a set of three late 19th century Latin motets by the Anglo-Irish composer of the late Romantic era, Sir Charles Villiers Stanford.
It would be great to welcome you to the concert. Admittance is £10.00 with the proceeds going to church funds.
