An Open Invitation to the Tribe of Avebury and Beyond
You are warmly invited to bear witness to a sacred and significant moment in the life of our community.
On the 2nd of August, in the heart of the ancient stones of Avebury, a rite shall take place to publicly raise Jim and Carlie as Arch Druid and Arch Druidess of Avebury.
This act marks not the beginning of their service, but the formal recognition of it. They have walked this path already, charged with guardianship by those who came before them — Henk Viz, and before him, Terry Dobney, and before him, Tim Sebastion, and before him Jackie Memory Patterson. In keeping with the old ways and the wisdom of the Brehon law, they take up the mantle as two, not one, for they believe that no single soul should bear such weight alone. This raising honours the balance of masculine and feminine, of voice and silence, of tradition and growth.
This is not a coronation. It is a commitment — to the people, to the place, and to the principles of truth, honour, and service. It is a calling to stewardship, not authority. And as they step forward, they do so with open arms, inviting all who walk the path — of all orders and none — to join them.
Let it be known:
The Grove of Avebury Druids shall be founded under these stones, for all who hold the sacred in their hearts.
It shall be a grove where every soul is welcome, every voice is heard, and every order retains its autonomy.
It shall be a grove built upon Brehon values — where honour price, wergild, and geis are the soil from which respect and accountability grow.
It will be a foundation, a promise to the future.
This invitation is extended, not only to witness but to be part of the renewal of Avebury’s spirit. Bring your drums, your songs, your silence, your prayers. Bring food to share, love to offer, and a willingness to dream a better path into being.
Come. Stand with us. Be counted. Be kindled.
In truth and in service,
Anette Turner, Tánaiste to Jim and Carlie
(Arch Druid and Arch Druidess of Avebury)
