This evening, we’ll hear the tale of Thor’s fight with the World-Serpent. We’ll watch the gods start to age when deprived of the apples of the goddess Iðunn - and yes, of course, it’s all Loki’s fault.

Deadlier than the male, Thor is then up against two sisters, the daughters of the cunning giant Geirroð; Loki’s to blame again, he’s really starting to push his luck!

We also have two tales from the Poetic Edda, told in narrative verse. In the first, Thor shows he has brains as well as brawn, here he pits his wits against the dark-elf, All-Wise. In the second, another pair of giant sisters, captured warriors who have become enslaved, test a human king’s royal qualities, and find him sadly lacking; poetic justice swiftly follows…

Some of these stories contain adult content and are not suitable for children.

Friday 18th July 7.30 P.M. at Angels Cut, 39 Duke Street, Darlington, DL3 7RX. £5 on the door.
