Author Talk: Pātaka kai - Growing kai sovereignty
The indigenous food heroes from all across Aotearoa and Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa tell their stories in Pātaka Kai in the hope that we are making headway in the quest for food sovereignty, regaining and retaining the knowledge of food-growing practices that are in-tune with Te Ao Māori.
Jessica Hutchings is recognised internationally as a leader in Indigenous food sovereignty and food systems. Associate Professor Jo Smith is a senior kairangahau Māori for Papawhakaritorito Charitable Trust who also researches and teaches at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington.
