The Reinventing the American Thoroughbred

IAlexander Keene Richards was a Georgetown native, one of its most famous citizens. He was known nationally during the nineteenth century. He is buried in Georgetown Cemetery.

Local author author, Gary O’Dell has written a book about his life.
The Scott County Historical Society will hold a book launch at Ward Hall on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 6pm.
O’Dell will talk about his book and the importance of Keene Richards to the American thoroughbred and his connection to Georgetown . Books, signed by the author, will be available for purchase.
