This Yin Variations 25-Hour TT is a practicum intensive. We will guide the student-teachers through a review of the 3-Stage cycle of a Yin Yoga practice:
#1: Explore and Communicate. Through some schematics, charts, and lots of movement and chanting, we will explore and communicate with the body and guide it into a shape, a posture that follows the its unique landscape of twists, turns, tensions and compressions. We will learn how and where to “listen/ observe” and how best to respond to the evolving needs of the body and mind.
#2: Be still and surrender. We will study what it means to “go deep” into the body with Yin Yoga, as well as what it means to “go deep” into the mind and emotions and spirit with Yin Yoga. We will compare and contrast these aspects of Yin Yoga with seated Chakra meditations techniques, as well as Yoga Nidra Practices.
#3: Rebound. Passively and steadily observe the flow of energy (i.e. chi, prana, “life force”) released on the exit of a Yin pose. We will discuss life-force channels of different traditions. We will turn to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras for a look into our deepest of endeavors of all our yoga practices, to truly know ourselves.
However, the primary objective in Teaching Yin is to offer the budding Yin Yoga teachers time and space and guidance to use their voice, as well as precious feedback from teachers and colleagues.
The Yin teacher’s two voices:
Group leader: Each student will guide colleagues into the “3-Stage Cycle of Yin.”
One-on-one consultant: After a review of all 5 Yin Yoga Archetypes, the anatomy and variations, each student will practice “Narrations” with fellow students.
Combining these practicum exercises, one gains the ability to speak fluidly and succinctly to lead students into their unique shapes and needs. More importantly, one learns when to stop speaking and listen deeply and understand the unique needs of each student.
PLEASE NOTE: This training is being offered both live streamed with small breakout groups and in person at Soul of Yoga Institute.
Cost: $450 Early Bird by 9/9/25; $550 Thereafter
