Maggie Moran: A Light in the Dark

Maggie Moran's solo exhibition "A Light in the Dark" opens on Thursday, July 17 at 5PM in Gallery Hall (3rd Floor) at Marketview Arts in downtown York, PA. Maggie is a Brooklyn-based artist who spends her days working in the corporate art world for Christie's and her nights in the studio piling up richly painted canvases. Her exhibition at Marketview Arts offers a taste of a few different bodies of work that she has been developing concurrently; including florals, neon-inspired abstractions, and classical figures brought into contemporary contexts.
Maggie left York for New York more than a decade ago, but many who lived here in 2015 may remember her as Creative York's Gallery Director (though it was called York Arts back then) and also as one of the core crew members that developed Wayne White's FOE installation at Marketview in 2014. We are excited to bring her back to York to exhibit her own work in that same space.
