Lynn Goldsmith

Award -winning photographer and New York Times best-selling author Lynn Goldsmith will present two of her Rizzoli coffee table photo books. Music In The ’80s is a book that contains a range of photographs of a variety of musicians, as that period of time was one of the most diverse in music history. Pop, rock, rap, jazz, and electronic music were all popular simultaneously. The design of the book displays how very different in genre artists inhabited the same period. The back of the book has quotes from many of the artists in the book about that decade, as well as having artists from other areas, like writer, director, and actor Ben Stiller, who was a teenager in the 80’s felt about that period of time.

The most current Rizzoli book is Before After Easter - Patti Smith, Lynn Goldsmith. This coffee table book is a true collaboration where Patti added her stories, poetry, and lyrics to complement
Lynn’s photographs. The images in the book were made from 1975 to 1980, at a period of time before and after Patti's highly acclaimed album Easter. The photograph that graces the cover of the book appears in the book with a never-before seen poem written by Patti’s long time friend, the actor, and playwright, Sam Shepard. Patti has never let her lyrics be published in any book other than her own and this one.
