Experience the joy of painting watercolor! I will begin with a demonstration to teach you essential techniques and the unique properties of watercolor, including wet-on-wet, dry brush, and glazing methods. Following the demo, beginners will receive detailed instructions, tips, and insights into watercolor supplies to enhance their skills. Look through your photos, you just may have that special moment you want to paint.

1. To practice drawing and take notes, students need a mix media drawing notebook along with essential items like water container, pencil, eraser, palette knife, viva paper towels, misting bottle, sea sponge, liquid masking fluid, and resource photos.
2. For watercolor painting, students should have brushes like sable, squirrel, synthetic, or a mix of these materials in round sizes #12, 8, 6, and 4, as well as a rigger or liner brush with thin, long hair #3, a few flat brushes in sizes 3/4 inch, 1", and 2", and mop brushes made with squirrel hair.
3. Recommended sources for art supplies include Cheap Joes, Dickblick.com, JerrysArtarama.com, and Amazon.
It is advised to use 100% cotton watercolor paper like Arches 140 LB. white, Winsor Newton 140lb. paper, Kilimanjaro watercolor paper, Fabriano watercolor paper, Saunders Waterford watercolor paper, or Traditional by Hahnemuhle.
4. Good brands for watercolor paints to consider are Winsor Newton, Holbein, DaVinci, MaimeriBlu, Graham, Daniel Smith, Schmincke, Grumbacher, and Sennelier.
Colors to get started with:
New Gamboge Yellow, Aureolin Yellow, Yello Ochre. Alizarin Crimson, Permanent Rose , Burnt Siennia,Burnt Umber, Hookers Green, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Cerealan Blue, Paynes Gray
