Authentic Relating: Capacity

Every Authentic Relating experience I’ve created is about cultivating capacity in some way - to be with difference, to listen, to reveal yourself - it's about building safety in our nervous systems & expanding our ability to be both our-self and with other-selves (and life) in our fullest expressions.
I carry the lens of recovering from PTSD & (T)trauma - where capacity is a super important thing that needs attention & care and can be easily impacted & shift quickly. Everyday is full of impact to our capacity - affecting the lens you see life thru.
But WTH is Capacity anyway?!? I talk about it constantly & support us in building it - but what is it !? Lets gather to explore - what is Capacity really, how do we engage with it, build it, use it, and tend it when it is fragile.
We are all operating with less than full Capacity - with lifetimes of experiences and wounds - leaving us sensitive to being activated / triggered - to interpreting things from a negative lens. Lets learn to tending OUR capacity in a conscious way.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲:
Authenticity is being yourself - it is being curious about, trusting and practicing expressing what you want and need from moment to moment in each connection and situation and acting in-line with this deep part of you.
Relating is being in connection with others - and this can have many flavors from crunchy & awkward to intimately seen.
The challenge is if I do not share who I am - I likely do not experience a quality of connection that feeds me.
Authentic Relating is a practice - it is a dance & interplay in which we give & receive, and find edges & boundaries, and figure out what feels good & what does not. The question I am inviting us to explore together is what happens when I truly share my authentic self with others and am received warmly, perhaps enthusiastically, in that expression?
During this evening, we play games that involve sharing & listening in groups of 2-3+ people and sometimes up to the whole group.
This event is friendly for absolute beginners who want to explore relating and connecting more deeply with others. It is also friendly for those more experienced in connective practices who want to deepen their practice.
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗕):
When I started using Authentic Relating practices my relationships & life immediately started to change - to experiences of deeper connection, being seen, heard and supported. I feel grateful to be able to facilitate these curated events and share them with you. I want us to all have support in choosing to live in connective ways.
I have completed ART International's L1 & L2 The ART of Being Human course - as well as Level 3 which is a week-long residential facilitation training called The ART of Leadership. I have also supported in the teaching of the L1 3x. I also facilitate Connective Communication workshops, Coach and generally support people with my company businessforhumans.ca
I am deeply committed to relational and personal growth, and I practice these as a way of life.
