Dern gives one of her most unforgettable performances, sharing the screen with her real-life mother Diane Ladd, who earned an Oscar nomination for her ferocious role.
A far cry from the wide-eyed innocence of her Blue Velvet character, Lula is bold, impulsive, and fiercely in love — and this film takes her (and us) to places we don’t expect.
