Join WMSE on Thursday, July 31 at the iconic Oriental Theatre for a special screening of Dont Look Back—the landmark 1967 documentary directed by D.A. Pennebaker that follows Bob Dylan’s 1965 concert tour in England. Featuring appearances by Joan Baez, Donovan, Alan Price, Albert Grossman, Bob Neuwirth, and brief glimpses of Marianne Faithfull, John Mayall, Ginger Baker, and Allen Ginsberg, the film is a time capsule of music and culture. Dont Look Back was selected for preservation by the Library of Congress in 1998 and was named one of the top 10 documentaries of all time by Sight & Sound critics in 2014.

Following the screening, Sonia of Sonia’s Blues Drive—WMSE’s own Bob Dylan expert—will host a Q&A session diving into the film and Dylan’s legacy. This event supports the WMSE Digital Library Fund. Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of film, music, and conversation.
