About the Play
Set in 1934 on Ireland’s remote island of Inishmaan, Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple of Inishmaan follows Billy Claven, a disabled orphan longing to escape the cruelty and monotony of village life. When a Hollywood crew arrives on a neighboring island to film Man of Aran, Billy lies about having tuberculosis to join the journey, hoping for fameβ€”or at least freedom. What unfolds is a darkly comic tale of deception, longing, and belonging, as Billy returns home with both a bruised body and battered heart, uncovering buried truths and chasing a sliver of hope in a world that rarely shows kindness.

Additional Information:
All who are cast in the play will be required to register for a minimum of 1 unit in our TAP production class. Enrolling early does not guarantee a part in the play.

People of all genders, cultures, races, ages, abilities, and identities are encouraged to audition.
