Enjoy discounted art classes at LakeFest this year! The city of Fairmont has generously offered to pay half of each student's registration fees. Prices shown on my website are already at the discounted rates.
Please select your section and note what time your section starts. Confirmation emails may generically state 10:00 - 4:00 PM (the hours the festival is open). So please note and only come to the section you selected at checkout (by purchasing a ticket, you agree and understand you WILL NOT BE REFUNDED if you come to the incorrect section). Section 1 : 10:30 - 11:30 AM
Section 2 : 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Section 3 : 1:30 - 3:30 PM
All sections are great for beginners and for ages 8 years and up. Students aged 8-13 should be accompanied by an adult, thank you.
Classes will be held at Amber Lake Park. Look for the Caroline Porter Art Tent (white canopy tent and large blue umbrella)
SECTION 1: Lakeside Horizon Oil Pastel Class 10:30-11:30 AM
Get your hands dirty creating this vibrant lakeside sunset scene. Learn a variety of blending techniques and how to cut oil pastels. This piece will measure roughly 5x7 inches.
SECTION 2: Mini Lily Pads Oil Pastel Class 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Create the adorable miniature Impressionist Lily Pad piece during section 2. Clip frames are included (frame styles are subject to change due to availability). This artwork will measure roughly 2x3 inches.
SECTION 3: Watercolor Bookmarks 1:30-3:30 PM
Each student will create all three designs, the LakeFest design, Lakeside Sunset and Beachy Shoreline. Students will be given cellophane sleeves to protect bookmarks.
What is LakeFest?? It's a new festival celebrating the lakes of Fairmont, MN. It's also a festival to help educate our community on the importance of maintaining our lakes as our drinking water comes from them! The festival will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It offers a variety of family centered activities including, bounce houses, Storytime, sand pile for kids, face painting, and so much more!
Refund Policy: Refund requests within 48 hours of the event will not be issued. Please understand that this is due to material costs and limited seating. Refunds requested before that will be issued but note that fees associated with Square MAY NOT BE REFUNDABLE.
