Contemplative Dance Practice

Drawing on the form of Contemplative Dance Practice, founded by Barbara Dilley, this workshop will help us to integrate inner and outer experiences, alone and together. We will spend time individually and collectively to experience, witness, process and share our current state of being using the body and breath as our guides.
Guided by dance artist Hanna Satterlee, the map of practices will include: silent meditation, personal awareness movement practice, and a shared movement practice called Open Space. After a timed set in each of these three practices, we will have the opportunity to journal to reflect on our own experience, and conclude with discussion and sharing observations with one another.
Open Level.
Open to all bodies ages 18+, no movement experience necessary. Please bring your own journal and pen, and a meditation pillow and/or yoga mat if you'd like one. Drop-in friendly or attend both.
